Canadian Only Restaurant Review is the delicious food section stemming from the Canadian Only website. It is a celebration and promotion of all that is joyfully eaten and blissfully experienced in Canada.
How the Canadian Only Restaurant Review Process Works
If you are a restaurant owner, you can invite us to dine and sample items from your menu that we agree would be good to showcase. (If you’re a customer that dined at a restaurant you highly recommend us to review, contact us with the details.)
No money is exchanged. We arrange with the restaurant owner a mutually good time to conduct the review. I bring at least 1 guest or up to 3 guests (2 to 4 diners in total) that have a different palate or diet in order to try a variety of dishes and provide a fair perspective. The restaurant provides the meal as a gift, and the online review is written and published as a gift.
The restaurant also receives a 1-page edited version of their review that can be printed, framed and displayed. (Example: https://correview.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/2014-02-25-saigon-restaurant-in-kelowna-03.pdf.)
This year, we are introducing the Canadian Only Restaurant of the Year Award (the CORY Award). Every restaurant we review will be eligible. The criteria for the CORY Award will be published shortly.
The People Behind the Canadian Only Restaurant Review
Leslie Wilson is the “Founding Mother” of the Canadian Only website, an online directory of strictly hand-picked businesses based in Canada. A Winnipeg born true Canadian, she’s traversed this vast land of ours, living in 8 cities. She is now settled in the Okanagan. Leslie takes care of business, top to bottom. She makes the big decisions: hiring and purchasing.
Annie Zed (aka Zalezsak) is originally from Toronto. She has also lived and travelled Canada coast to coast (and beyond). She’s a writer, reviewer, artist and designer. Annie has keen senses with the ability to identify and bring attention to the beauty in everything.
Annie studied nine courses related to the hospitality industry while living in the United Kingdom. She studied Management and Business at the University of Glamorgan in Wales. She has an ILM5 from the Institute of Leadership and Management. She is currently working on her second book, offering tips to improve businesses in the restaurant industry. Her first book, “We Are One Blood”, is available on Amazon.
